This is an extreme close-up (macro photograph) of a white and pink flower. I believe the type of flower is an aster, but am not an expert on flowers myself.
It is hard to tell from just the image above, but the full size version of this photograph is 80 megapixels. The flower itself was only a few inches in diameter, so the final result is a "much larger than life" view of the flower. In order to create the final photograph, a combination of macro photography, photo stitching, and focus stacking was used. Take a look at the detail squares below to see some of the detail in the photograph for certain zoomed in areas.
